ZED's hits were an essential part of the soundtrack of New Zealand lives between 1999 and 2004 and the band still hits hard; with its original lineup now a group of seasoned entertainers that have never stopped being a beloved part of Aotearoa's music industry. ‘Renegade Fighter’, ‘Hard to Find Her’, ‘Glorafilia’... need we say more? Fast forward to 2024 and ZED are back with new music and have delivered their first few singles from their forthcoming album, Future Memory set for release in August.
DRAGONDragon is back, as good as ever, fronted by the legendary kiwi singer Mark Williams. This band rocks its way through a long list of iconic songs that are part of the national estate. Todd started the band in 1973 and Marc Hunter joined in 1974 Dragon has had many hits over the years and have sold over 2 million albums. Bass player, Todd Hunter reformed the band in 2007 after a much needed break and Dragon have played over 700 shows since then. Todd and Mark are joined by Canadian guitar slinger, Bruce Reid and drum wizard Pete Drummond. The band is known for anthems like April Sun In Cuba, Are You Old Enough, Rain, Speak No Evil, Young Years, This Time, Sunshine, Celebrate and Dreams of Ordinary Men. Dragon was inducted into the Australian Hall Of Fame in 2008 The current live show evolves from an intimate beginning to a spirited, electric, uplifting finale. Mark sings each song in a way that is familiar to the audience but completely his own and strong playing and vocal harmonies have the crowd singing along as if everyone on the room is in the band. Dragon mashes up 30 years of Australasian musical history into one contemporary sound and does justice to a great collection of timeless songs. Old brand, New band.
THE JORDAN LUCK BANDJordan William Hunter Luck MNZM is the former lead singer and songwriter of the New Zealand rock band The Exponents. At the 2007 APRA Silver Scroll Awards on 18 September, Luck was named as the first inductee to the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame. He was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to music in the 2012 Queen's Birthday and Diamond Jubilee Honours.
HELLO SAILORHello Sailor has been busy in recent years sharing stages with the cream of Kiwi music, playing to over 70,000 people alongside Hammond Gamble, th’ Dudes, Citizen Band, Anika Moa, Dragon, Jordan Luck, Midge Marsden, Stellar*, Gin Wigmore, Zed, The Chills, Stan Walker, Devil Skin, The Feelers, Jon Toogood, Shapeshifter and Blindspott. In June 2023 they supported English legends 10cc on the NZ leg of their Ultimate Greatest Hits Tour and toured with Nazareth and Dire Straits Legacy over the summer holiday period. In April 2024 they were with Dragon on their national 50th Anniversary Tour. Hello Sailor will be celebrating 50 years since the band started in 1975 and is dedicated to the music and memory of founding members Dave McArtney and Graham Brazier. The current line-up is as close as fans will get to the band’s classic sound, powered by the energy and attitude of Rick Ball on drums and Paul Woolright on bass. Harry Lyon has stepped up as lead vocalist with he and Jimmy Taylor taking care of weaving guitars. Stephen Small on keyboards and saxophone completes the package. Their shows feature Hello Sailor, Pink Flamingos and Graham Brazier favourites, hit songs from Harry’s back catalogue and his 2018 critically acclaimed hit solo album “To the Sea”.
CAM SCOTTBorn and raised in Timaru, New Zealand 2015 CMANZ Male Artist of the year Cam Scott has just released his latest single FRONT ROW after a five year break from recording. Aside from having a successful solo career, Scott is now regarded as having one of the best cover bands in New Zealand.
SISTERHOODWith a love for wicked harmonies, Sisterhood is the premiere sister duo from the south. Singing together for their whole lives, Casey De Blecourt and Gemma Clydesdale have a bond like no other which shines through their performances. The sisters have celebrated excellence and winning national titles within the NZ Country Music scene together and individually, most recently with Casey being crowned NZCMA Entertainer of the Year.
JOSH KEATINGJosh Keating is a multi-award winning 19 year old musician from Christchurch. He is a two time winner at the NZCMA Entertainer of the Year Awards, has taken out multiple sections at the New Zealand Gold Guitar Awards, performed in the New Zealand Showcase in Tamworth, Australlia, and many other festivals around Aotearoa. Gigging from an incredibly young age, he has played shows all around the country in bands, duets, and as a solo act, and now plays most weeks at some of Christchurch’s most popular bars.
